MERCEDES-BENZ - GEARBOX SERVICE

Auto Transmission oil change or gearbox service is carried out every 4 years or 36000 – 40000 mls, on 5 or 7 speed automatic gearbox as fitted to all Mercedes-Benz passenger cars.

We would also recommend a gearbox service if you recently bought a second hand Mercedes-Benz passenger car and you are unsure of the service history.

It is for your peace of mind and for a long reliable gearbox life. The service consists draining the gearbox oil, and removal of the gearbox sump pan. We then change the gearbox oil filter.

On a 5 speed automatic transmission at this point the Pilot Bushing is changed with a modified replacement to reduce future gearbox oil leaks. We then fit the sump pan with a new gasket and replenish with fresh Mercedes-Benz transmission oil.

On the 7 speed our Mercedes-Benz STAR machine is used to carry out correct oil level checking and a specialist tool is used on the 5 speed.

Please note that the gearbox oil level is checked as part of the annual service here at TEC Automotive Ltd.
